Welcome to Johnston Kirkpatrick Rare Coins
A really, really cool specimen. While many 1853 half dimes come with fairly wicked die clashing, this one is on the extreme side of the spectrum. A crystal clear, forward facing “E” is visible on the obverse under Liberty’s elbow that can be clearly seen in the Trueview as well as in hand. The rest of the coin is terrific, with original surfaces and mint state luster providing sharp eye appeal on top of the unique, way cool die clashing.
This one is just back from PCGS and hasn’t undergone any sticker review yet.
